I went into a bit of a summer paranormal mystery binge which brought me to this book. I so rarely read paranormal fiction books prior to this year but I’ve really been enjoying the genre. Let’s review!

Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak
- Category – Paranormal Mystery Thriller

- Read Time – 1 Day
- GR Rating – 4 Stars
We’re introduced to Mallory Quinn as she’s going thru a bit of a rough patch in her life. Fresh out of rehab & taking on a job as a live-in nanny for 5 year old Teddy, Mallory moves into the Maxwell home. Ready to turn her life around for the better, she’s excited with the prospect of her new job. Teddy is a sweet, respectful, playful child & parents Ted & Caroline seem great, accommodating & well put together. However, what starts off as an easy nanny job soon turns into a dangerous mystery for Mallory to solve.
Teddy likes to draw & soon after Mallorys’ arrival his drawings go from the usual colorful & fun imaginings of a 5 year old to intricately detailed sketches of what appears to be a murder scene. Shocked & alarmed by the artwork Mallory brings it to Carolines’ attention, only to be basically dismissed. As the days continue Mallory gets many more clues that something is amiss at the Maxwell house, more specifically something is amiss with Teddy Maxwell. As the number & severity of unexplained events increases Mallory begins believing Teddy may be haunted & decides she must get proof to show his parents whom do not believe her.
Is Teddy Maxwell being haunted, if so by whom & why? This is the mystery that Mallory must solve to ultimately save Teddy. Hesitant & unsure of what she’s hearing & feeling because of her own past troubles, Mallory ends up putting her life on the line in her attempts to solve this mystery. The answers ultimately being much closer than she ever expected.
I rated this book 4 stars because I didn’t solve the mystery, I was not expecting that & I love a good surprise ending in my mystery reads. Thank you for joining me for another review & as always, happy reading!
