This one needs to be adapted for tv! Immediately, give me a 10 part series, so I can have something to do for a weekend. Let’s review.

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
- Category – Suspense Mystery Thriller
- Length – 368 Pages
- Read Time – 1 Day
- GR Rating – 4 Stars
The story begins… our protagonist, 25 year old Jules Larsen, is having a bout of luck, finally! So much has gone wrong for Jules, most recently the loss of her job & abrupt culmination of her relationship. With no job, no boyfriend, no family to fall back on & also no place to live, because of the relationships end, things are looking pretty bleak. Until Jules gets a sudden job offer that fortuitously also doubles as a solid living arrangement. All be it temporary, it is still a huge step up from homelessness, & regardless having a job is necessary. A girls’ gotta have income to survive.
As part of her new job as an apartment sitter, at the luxurious Bartholomew in Manhattan, Jules must follow three non-negotiable rules. Rule one, no one other than Jules is allowed to be in the assigned apartment. Visitors of any kind are strictly off limits to apartment sitters. Rule two, no bothering the buildings residents. Home to some pretty high-profile & wealthy residents, there is a high expectation of privacy & peace. Rule three, the rule that strikes Jules as a bit strange at first, absolutely no nights spent away from the apartment. Breaking any of these rules is grounds for immediate termination. Offering excellent pay, the job almost seems too good to be true. Getting paid to live in a large luxury New York City apartment, with only three little rules.
Naturally, it was too good to be true.
Just 5 days after moving in Jules finds herself, literally, running for her life from the Bartholomew. What starts as an eerie feeling in the pit of her stomach & rumors about suspicious disappearances of previous apartment sitters very quickly turns into a fight for her life. The big reveal felt so realistic, adding a deep layer to the horror aspect of the story. I want to say so much more but I’m struggling to put my thoughts to words without giving too much away & I don’t want to spoil any of it!
Highly recommend this book for the spooky season tbr. Happy spooky season reading & as always, thank you for joining me for another review.
Hasta la próxima – V
